Ford Super Duty under NHTSA investigation

2008 Ford F-250

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, or NHTSA for short, has announced that they have launched an investigation concerning the 2008 Ford F-250 and 350 Super Duty trucks. The investigation was started after the agency had received five complaints concerning the steering box failing to operate. The owners went on to state that the failure led to a complete loss of control of the vehicle. In fact, theĀ alleged issue has resulted in one truck being involved in a low-speed crash, and another having hit a guardrail, after it had left the road altogether.

Generally speaking, once the NHTSA has launched and concluded an investigation, based on the findings, a vehicle recall shortly follows. If it, in fact, becomes a recall, it’ll be the latest for the second largest United States automaker, with the most recent recall still not completely resolved. Stay tuned here at the Examiner for the latest on that recall, as well as all of the other automotive news…
