In a bold move that allows Dallas’s Randall Reed to step outside of his comfort zone, his World Class Automotive Group has recently purchased McKinney Volkswagen from the Autonation corporation.
As AutoNation moves to consolidate their dealerships under one brand, this includes selling off dealerships to other companies looking to expand their own portfolio. They had recently purchased the Volkswagen dealership from Boardwalk Auto Group of Plano last December, which was a part of a multi-dealership transaction.
Already owning Prestige Ford in Garland (Randall Reed rose to local fame after purchasing the high-volume dealership from long-time auto industry veteran Jerry Reynolds), as well as Park Cities Ford and Lincoln in Dallas, Reed is excited about expanding his company’s horizons, and welcoming the new challenges that the dealership will offer.
“It gives us some exciting product diversity in our organization, which is dominated by a domestic lineup of Ford and Lincoln customers,” Reed said. “We are excited to work with Volkswagen because it broadens our total appeal to customers.”
The timing of the sale should work in favor of World Class Automotive Group, as the dealership sold 941 cars last year, and with Volkswagen AG’s ambitious North American expansion plans, this dealership and others look to increase their bottom line with additional sales.
